Thermal conductivity of gas concrete

Thermal conductivity is one of the key indicators to consider when choosing masonry building materials. It depends on how comfortable it will be living in the house, work in the office, being in any other building or structure. In our article we will talk about the thermal conductivity of gas concrete, the features of this indicator and the advantages of using this material in construction.

Thermal conductivity characteristics of gas units
The main factor determining the coefficient of thermal conductivity of gas concrete is its structure. Sealed air bubbles, of which about 85% of the material, serve as a reliable heater. At the same time, the wall thickness required to create a protective «belt» is about 4 - 5 times less than when using bricks, and 1.5 times lower than when building from wood.

However, climatic conditions must be taken into account when choosing the right brand and calculating the number of concrete blocks. The fact that a large impact on the thermal conductivity of autoclave concrete is humidity. Its high value increases heat transmission in the blocks. Therefore, in regions with high humidity, waterproofing is recommended to ensure low thermal conductivity of the concrete. However, testing of Arton gas units in the climate of Uzbekistan and neighboring countries has shown that no waterproofing is required.

Practice shows that along with other physical and technical characteristics of the material, the thermal conductive properties of the concrete make it one of the most effective in the construction of many facilities. And efficiency means not only ensuring a favourable indoor climate and reducing costs. There is also a significant reduction in the construction time and costs.
